In my experience, creatine is both one of the most commonly used supplements and one of the most commonly touted supplements amongst experts in sports performance and nutrition.
However, there are some concerns over side effects and health risks from supplementing with creatine that pervade social and mainstream media.
For these reasons, I kick off the Talking Studies Series by covering a few creatine misconceptions addressed in Antonio et al.'s research review, "Common questions and misconceptions about creatine supplementation: what does the scientific evidence really show?"
Specifically, I break down the authors' summaries on research around creatine consumption and water retention, kidney health, and hair-loss/baldness.
